More than 20 years after the last live performance of legendary post-hardcore band Fugazi, 013 brings back their spirit with a screening of “We Are Fugazi from Washington, D.C.” This remarkable documentary, carefully curated by filmmakers Joe Gross, Joseph Pattisall, and Jeff Krulik, consists entirely of fan videos, rare archives, and previously unseen footage. An explosive tribute to the band that did everything differently, the film throws you straight into the sweat of a D.C. music cellar or a sold-out London venue. We do this on hallowed ground—Fugazi played our pop temple back in October 1999.
The evening concludes with a live concert by Nijmegen garage/post-punk band Femme Fugazi. With their combination of spoken word, distorted guitars, and a punk ethos, the band, who have only been playing together since 2022, have already impressed many. After previous performances at Popronde 2023, as the opening act for Claw Boys Claw, and at one of our own Cat’s Cult editions, the female-fronted quintet will close out the Music Film Festival this evening with a bang.
One ticket grants admission to both the film and the concert. The documentary screening is seated, while the Femme Fugazi concert is standing. Free admission is available upon presentation of two other MFF25 tickets purchased during the festival.
We Are Fugazi From Washington DC + Femme Fugazi on Sunday, September 21st, starting at 7:00 PM at 013!
