Kreator are Gods to their fans, but musically they sound possessed by the devil.  They have been at the top of the thrash metal food chain for forty years. From their roots as a school band to international fame, the film KREATOR – HATE & HOPE chronicles their music and rise with their music and humor.

Kreator’s music is harsh with melodic guitar riffs, energetic drum beats, and a driving pumping bass. The band’s lyrics express strong political views and quotes from political thinker Hannah Arendt.

Director Cordula Kablitz-Post (whose previous films include “Die Toten Hosen”) toured with Kreator for a year – at festivals in Japan, India, the United States, and back home at the “Klash of the Ruhrpott” festival in Gelsenkirchen. Featuring recordings from private archives, interviews and fantastic music fragments.
