On the big screen: One of Golden Earring’s last concerts with the original lineup. Plus a conversation with bassist Rinus Gerritsen and drummer César Zuiderwijk.
Looking back, Golden Earring’s 2019 tour turned out to be the band’s farewell tour. Guitarist George Kooijmans was diagnosed with a serious illness and decided to stop performing, after which the remaining band members Barry Hay, Rinus Gerritsen, and César Zuiderwijk immediately decided to quit as well.
A pity for the fans who would have loved to see the band play live one more time. One of the performances from that tour – on November 16, 2019, at Ahoy – was recorded and released on CD at the time. The Music Film Festival is now showing the film on the big screen with amazing sound quality.
And even more special: Rinus Gerritsen and César Zuiderwijk will be present at the screening to look back and chat with the fans. Gather all the questions you’ve always wanted to ask and come to MFF – Golden Earring Live.
