Femme Fugazi

Concert at closing night MFF25

Sun 21 September 2025 - 21:00 - Pop stage 013 - € 23,00 film + concert (or free entrance with other MFF ticket)

Concert by Nijmegen garage/post-punk band Femme Fugazi at the closing party of MFF25. Following the screening of the documentary 'We Are Fugazi' about the American band Fugazi.

Femme Fugazi from Nijmegen is the closing act of Music Film Festival 2025 at Poppodium 013. The formation around the five band members Chris de Meza (zang), Floris van de Ree (guitar), Thijs Moons (guitar), Wouter Loeve (bas) en Bram Boeve (drums) does not see itself as a punk band. “Femme Fugazi does not convey a political message, as you often see in punk. We call it garage/post-punk, because punks can’t play and we play very tight.” Singer Chris graduated from the Rock City Institute in Tilburg and initially even performed with a jazz band.

Femme Fugazi combines spoken word, manic unpredictability and lyrics about the sizzling love for Gerard Joling into a possessed whole. The band is inextricably linked to bands from the emerging post-punk wave of recent years.

The band has been playing together since 2022 and has already impressed many people in a short period of time; they became the second most booked band of the Popronde (2023) and they provided the opening act for Claw Boys Claw. In November 2024, their debut EP ‘Look At You’ was released, a raw and energetic introduction to their sound. And now the band is the closing act of Music Film Festival 2025 at Poppodium 013.

The concert at Music Film Festival follows the screening of the documentary ‘We Are Fugazi from Washington D.C.’ about the American post-punk band Fugazi, which existed between 1986 and 2003.

One ticket gives access to both the film and the concert. The documentary screening is seated, the Femme Fugazi concert is standing. You have free access upon presentation of another MFF25 ticket that you bought during the festival.
