Fri 19 September 2025 - 22:00 - Pathé Tilburg Centre - 90 min - 15,50

Australian musician Warren Ellis (Bad Seeds) takes us on a guided tour through his world and a very special animal sanctuary.

The new Australian documentary Ellis Park, screening at Music Film Festival.

Composer Warren Ellis is an Australian musician and composer. He has cut a brilliant and unorthodox figure in music for over three decades.

He is a member of the rock groups Dirty Three and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. He also performed with the band Grinderman until its disbandment in 2013. He has composed film scores with long-time friend and band-mate Nick Cave. Ellis plays the violin, piano, accordion, bouzouki, guitar, flute, mandolin and viola.

Far from the international concert halls, in which he has plied his craft, lies a very different passion project. A wildlife sanctuary in the forests of Sumatra.  Co-founded by Ellis is Ellis Park: a sanctuary for mistreated animals. The park is spearheaded by the Dutch veterinarian Femke den Haas and her dedicated team of conservationists, who devote years to nursing the animals back to health.

This fly-on-the-wall documentary about Warren Ellis offers both a deeply personal insight into the artist’s life. An inspiring reminder of how much can be achieved when working together.
