It is not surprising that ‘One Zero One: The Story of Cybersissy and BayBjane’ is a German film. Nightclub artist Cybersissy – a creation of Tilburg drag artist, singer and actor Antoine Timmermans – was mainly known and popular in Germany.
German filmmaker Tim Lienhard followed the life of 48-year-old Dutch Antoine and his ‘discovery’, 33-year-old Moroccan-German Mourad, ‘the smallest drag queen in the world’ and multiply handicapped. Mourad experiments with his handicaps and is not in the closet like most handicapped people, but is on stage every night at Parties on Ibiza.
The film was shot in Tilburg, where Antoine lives. The film is partly a fairytale and artistic camp film.
