The Beach Boys

The concert is special because all six Beach Boys were on stage: Brian Wilson, Dennis Wilson, Carl Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, and Bruce Johnston. The concert was also their last major performance in the United Kingdom.

Brian Wilson‘s presence is particularly noteworthy, as he had already decided in the 1960s to retire from touring with the band. He is the group’s primary songwriter. Dennis Wilson (drums) is also present. He would die a few years later of a drug overdose.

With a setlist packed with classics like “Good Vibrations,” “California Girls,” “God Only Knows,” and “Surfin’ USA,” Live at Knebworth 1980 demonstrates why The Beach Boys are among the all-time greats in pop history.
