A true film lover knows them: the Dolby Atmos cinemas. The largest room at Pathé Stappegoor in Tilburg, room 4, is one of them. This room has an advanced audio system with 64 speakers, so you can literally hear the sound all around you while watching a film. So far, Atmos has only been used to support images (the film), but what if you use this sound system specifically for music, as a pure listening experience?
With that question in mind, music producer Dyane Donck Company has started the Atmos/Spheres project, with a completely new experience as a starting point.
A group of composers and students, under the guidance of various sound experts, have immersed themselves in the world of Dolby Atmos for this project. The result is a selection of special audio material, specially composed and refined for this sound system. From alienating atmospheric harmonies to 3D pop songs and cinematic soundtracks. During the Atmos/Spheres concert you will experience 50 minutes of sound art on a new, penetrating and surrounding level. Open your ears!

Exclusive audio art exhibition in Pathé Stappegoor
During the festival you will not only be able to attend Atmos/Spheres, but Dyane Donck Company and its musical partners will also exhibit a themed exhibition in the foyer as a context program. Composers Evelien van den Broek, Strijbos & Van Rijswijk, artist René van Commenée and Dyane Donck himself show music installations that focus on immersive sound and sometimes projection.
These installations can be visited continuously for free on the same Friday afternoon, September 6.
