On Saturday evening, September 20, jazz venue Paradox in Tilburg will be all about jazz great Louis Armstrong. Music Film Festival will be showing the moving film Little Satchmo, about the daughter of the famous trumpet player. Film director John Alexander will be coming to Tilburg especially from the US for a chat with the audience and we will also try to speak to Armstrong’s daughter.
Then it will be the turn of international jazz sensation Michael Varekamp and his band. Varekamp, the best Armstrong interpreter in Europe. He will breathe new life into the soul and swing of Louis Armstrong in a masterful way. With his raw voice, beautiful trumpet playing and charisma, he will give visitors the feeling that they are in the jazz clubs of Louisiana for a moment.
Varekamp will have several top jazz musicians on stage with him: Rolf Delfos (alto & tenor sax), Wiboud Burkens (Hammond B3), Harry Emmery (double bass) and Erik Kooger (drums). Together they bring the jazz and blues classics to life, with the spirit of Armstrong to be heard.
A complete evening full of fun, with film, live music and pure emotion.
